Road-safety analytics GIS tool
A road-safety GIS workspace for examining accidents and hotspots in Madrid and Athens.

The project
Road-safety analysis needs both a view of the whole area and a way to inspect one location. I designed and implemented Angular views that connect Leaflet maps, Chart.js charts, filters and accident records. In the hotspot view, analysts can narrow the data by road-user type, severity, date and segment or intersection, then switch between points, clusters and a heatmap. Selecting a hotspot highlights its location and opens a table of related accidents, keeping the detail connected to the map.
Design details
Points help inspect individual locations, clusters reveal concentration, and the heatmap exposes broader patterns without changing the underlying task.
Road-user type, severity, date range and segment/intersection controls let analysts narrow the map and its charts to a relevant slice of accident data.
A selected hotspot stays highlighted while a linked table exposes its associated accidents. The project also includes separate accident and travel-demand views.
